Swain & Associates Chartered Accounts has four CPA's on staff in our Bridgewater location alone. Come by our south shore office and meet our personable personal CPAs in person.
I’m a born and bred small town boy who traveled the world for work but always knew that someday I would once again call Nova Scotia home. I opened my own accounting firm in Bridgewater to provide the kind of service I always thought was missing. I believe in the people that work for me, giving back to the community, spoiling my family, and I happen to be a hell of a cook. I’m a husband, father, cool uncle and rocking musician. I am not your typical accountant but rest assured I am a member, in good standing, with the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Nova Scotia and the Public Accounting Board of Nova Scotia.
My employment history: Grant Thornton, Bank of Bermuda, Olympia Capital.
I invest in the community: Committee Member of ‘Christmas on the LaHave’ - Past Director Bridgewater Area Chamber of Commerce - Past Director Lunenburg West PC Association - Founding Chair of Lunenburg County Young Professionals Network, Past Director of Finance St. Joseph’s Catholic Church, Past Deputy Grand Knight Knights of Columbus.

I am a good ol' South Shore boy and this is where I chose to call home. As a young lad (with big dreams) my first career choice was to become a professional skateboarder. However, my skills on a skateboard did not align with my dreams so naturally I set my sights on becoming a professional musician…and I actually did. I started a band and we signed with a local record label. Our first album took us on a Canadian tour. After weeks of sleeping on floors, uncomfortable couches, and making just enough money to get to the next show, I realized that music, as a career, was not for me. But, I learned something valuable from this incredible experience. Working hard to make no money, or handing it over to the tax man, is not right. After 13 years working as a tax accountant, I have helped countless families keep as much of their hard earned dollars as possible. I love what I do and I am good at it! And I also still get to jam and skateboard from time to time.
My employment history: KPMG, Grant Thornton, M.W. Feindel, Chartered Accountant Inc., etc.
Without the community I would have no career: Past Treasurer of the Chester Municipal Chamber of Commerce, Past Facilitator of Junior Achievement Canada, and current Chair of The Grinders Square Skatepark Committee.

Born and raised in Mahone Bay, I have always called the South Shore my home. After graduating from business college, I got a summer job at a bank and ended up staying for 23 years! I needed a new challenge so I entered the CGA program because I always loved working with numbers. Even my volunteer work revolves around numbers! I’m treasurer and secretary of my community cemetery; envelope secretary; collection counter, and member of the finance committee of my church; and past treasurer of the Lunenburg Minor Hockey canteen (I was a quiet hockey mom).
I was always the “thrifty” one in my family. I had the reputation of being able to make a dollar go farther than anyone else. But even though numbers are a big part of my life, customer service means much more to me. There’s a real feeling of satisfaction when you provide great service to your client, giving them peace of mind.
I am blessed with a wonderful husband and two great children. I love the outdoors, enjoying flower gardens and all animals, especially my two dogs. I’m affectionately known as the “crazy bird lady” in our house, as you can often find me watching the birds at the feeders.

I’m just a small town girl, born and raised in Bridgewater. After graduating from Acadia in 2003, I began my career in accounting and obtained my CGA designation in 2009. Aside from all the typical accountant duties I have at Swain & Associates, I’ve also been tasked with being the office “techy-person”, responsible for computer networking and stuff like that.
When I’m not spending quality time with my adding machine (it’s actually a fancy calculator), I’m busy planning my next trip to Disney to visit my good friends Winnie-the-Pooh and company. I enjoy spending time with my family, relaxing on the beach and attending truck pulls. Yes, that’s correct, I said truck pulls.
